Juan Pablo Balcázar / Antonio Mazzei  / Juan R. Berbín 

In 2020, eleven years after his first work as a bandleader for his own compositions, pianist Antonio Mazzei takes a new direction with Olivia. Using works as vehicles to improvise, the trio explore acoustic and electronic sounds to create structural affinities between free jazz, rock and classical post-impressionistic languages. The repertoire varies between original works, free improvisation and popular songs.

Antonio Mazzei is an award-winning, in-demand pianist as a soloist, bandleader, and a sideman. His musicality and curiosity have earned him numerous opportunities to collaborate with a range of recognized artists in diverse styles.

Juan Pablo Balcázar is a Colombian bassist, founder of CHIVA'  and known by his long time works with Lucia Pulido, Kase.O and Marta Gómez.

 

Juan R. Berbín is a drummer/percussionist and producer known by his work with SEWARD and several different artists on the Europe and South-American scene.
